A trip down memory lane…
The year was 2002. Two friends—Chris Boyd and Jordan Birch—were dreaming up a fun way to bring friends together over the holidays.
The two friends, along with their buddy Scott, decided to throw the cheesiest, most festive party imaginable—with outrageous Christmas sweaters at the heart of the celebration. The Original Ugly Christmas Sweater Party was born! Complete with caroling, tree decorating, eggnog chugging, live music and of course—milk and cookies—the gathering was all the magic of the holidays wrapped into one night.
Friends and family loved the feel-good festivities. Each year, the party quickly picked up momentum and eventually attracted crowds of 1,000 people to the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver. The jovial gatherings raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various charities.
Jordan and Chris have always dreamed of capturing the spirit and message of these events in a tangible keepsake. This book is a chance to continue the legacy they’ve built and create something special for the Ugly Christmas Sweater community. And so, here we are—two decades (and a lot of yarn) in the making.
